About Me

Portrait_edited.jpg

Ruth Chad’s love of poetry and writing began in childhood, where she was nurtured by the colorful streets of Montreal, Quebec. She was first published in Les Poesies de Montreal, in 1978. Her poetry is inspired by her love of nature — of the plants, birds and animals who cohabit the earth with us, and her deep concern for preserving it. As a clinical psychologist, the intensity of the relationship between psychologist and client and the deeply humanizing experience of being a therapist also motivates her to write. It was her luck to find the poetry community in Boston 15 years ago, where she lives, with its association of friends and poets. Her husband Mark and three children Emma, Avi and Simone have been her muses and pillars of support.
